Did you get past that, and were you able to enter your investment sale?
If not, try this.
- On the screen that VolvoGirl showed you above, that asks for the brokerage name, enter "No Broker" as the name (or enter any fake name that you like). The name you enter will not appear on your tax return. Then click Continue.
- The next screen asks a few questions, including questions about your 1099-B. Answer No for more than 3 sales and other types of investments. Answer the other questions appropriately, then click Continue.
- On the next screen select "One by one."
- The next screen says "Look for sales on your 1099-B." Just click Continue.
- On the next screen you can enter the details of the sale. For "Sales section" select "Short-term did not receive 1099-B form" or "Long-term did not receive 1099-B form" as appropriate. Enter the rest of the information and continue through the rest of the interview.
In an earlier post you said "If I had access to the Form View like prior years. . . ." The software features didn't change this year. You must have used the CD/Download TurboTax software in past years. Forms mode is available only in the CD/Download software, not in TurboTax Online.
