In California, Paid Family Leave income received from an insurance company is tax exempt.

How can I determine how much of my PFL Income was received from an Insurance company?

All Paid Family Leave received in California is tax exempt.  If you received it from an insurance company, you may have gotten a separate W2 from the Third Party Payer.  If not, your employer would have checked Box 13 to indicate Third Party Sick pay and the amount is usually indicated with Code J in Box 12 or Box 14.
