However, you should still check your return to make sure you don't have a form 8453 that needs to be mailed to the IRS (most often, due to a custody issue). I'm not sure I trust a FAQ that says everyone who got the email should disregard it.

8453 is a cover page that you print and mail to the IRS along with some other document that the IRS needs by mail, after you e-file. Documents you might be required to mail to the IRS include the original signed form 8332 for dependents in custody situations; form 8885 for the certain premium tax credits; form 1098-C for the donation of a car to a charity; form 8283 for non-cash donations to charity over $5000; and a few other uncommon forms.
Print a copy of your return and read the instructions carefully. It should print a copy of form 8453 and tell you what you need to attach. If you need to mail a form to the IRS and don't, your refund could be delayed or you could be audited.
