Home 1098
I got my 1098 for my home. The home itself is co-owned by 3 people, myself included. So who will file the 1098 in the tax; all of us, or one of us?
You must not only be liable for the debt, but pay the debt. So whoever claims it must be on the mortage and actually pay the mortgage interest. If all three of you meet that qualification, it is up to you. You can split it three ways or take turns.
