"Hmmmm....We've hit a snag" Error message

I'm using TT Premier desktop version. Taxes are complete and when I attempt to file Fed/State I was getting this "Hmmmm we've hit a snag" error message after clicking the "pay with credit card" button. I was not able to ever get to the screen to enter my credit card info; I was just stuck in this continuous erro loop. Multiple calls to customer service and multiple hours wasted, I finally figured this out on my own.

I had the thought that perhaps there was a problem with my computer, so I tried to install on another one. When I entered the serial number I got error 605 (the serial number is invalid).

I purchased the software from a 3rd party vendor and apparently the number had expired. I contacted them directly and they provided an updated number which is now working fine.

The 605 error disappeared and I was able to file after entering my cc info.

No thanks to Intuit customer service on this one. They had me logging on and off and changing my screen resolution (???), and rebooting my computer, and trying all sorts of ridiculous things that I knew weren't going to work. At one point, one of the reps suggested that I file Federal electronically and print my state return and mail it. Seriously??

Seems to me this solution should be somewhere in their algorithm; Error message "we've hit a snag"...Oh, please give me your serial number so I can see if it's valid.

Absolutely ridiculous how many hours of my day was wasted on this issue, not to mention the frustration of having to speak to multiple reps, getting disconnected, trying to get through their insane phone tree to actually speak to a live person.

Anyway, hopefully this helps someone who's having this same problem.
