Hi, my 2020 tax return was rejected due to needing a 6 digit pin which I now have, how can I resubmit the return? It's saying TurboTax doesn't submit past returns?

To access your current or prior year tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Start the 2022 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.

On the Tax Home webpage -

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

A 2020 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.

Print, sign, date and mail the tax return to the IRS.  Include with the mailed return any forms W-2 and 1099 which have taxes withheld.   Write in the 6 digit IP PIN on line for ID Protection PIN to the right of your signature and date.

Go to this IRS website for mailing addresses - https://www.irs.gov/filing/where-to-file-paper-tax-returns-with-or-without-a-payment

There are no penalties for filing a tax return after the due date if filing for a tax refund or there are no taxes owed.

The only way to file a 2020 return is to print and mail it in.  There is a place next to your signature to enter your IP PIN.  However, your 2022 IP PIN is not the same as your 2020 IP PIN, and processing may still be delayed.

In fact, you could have filed your 2020 return at any time since January 30, 2021. If you lost or never got the IP PIN, you always had the option of filing by mail.  The only difficulty is that the processing may be delayed if you don't include an IP PIN when you have been assigned one.
