Hi, I filed for an extension last night when I couldn't find all my info. I elected to pay 2k. Now I've found everything and filed and paid... will I get charged twice?
In a panic I decided to file for an extension but pay an estimated amount so that I didn't get hit with late fees. Turns out I had everything so I just went ahead and filed today. I'm worried that since I entered in my estimated payment info (with bank account) for my extension, AND did the same today when I actually filed, that I'll get charged twice. Is there a way to cancel my extension application to make sure I don't get charged twice?

If you filed your extension through your TurboTax software, what you paid with the extension should already be accounted for when you completed your return. How you can check this is by looking at your return. If you paid an amount with your extension on your federal return, this should show up on line 71 of Schedule 5. If it's there, then your additional balance due should be anything on top of your extension amount. If it's not on this line, then you can stop payment your extension payment check.
