Hi, I am on H-1B visa, living in the US. Recently, my parents got B2 visa. I want to book air tickets for them to visit me from abroad. Is it tax deductible?

Basically, I would like to know if the air ticket cost I paid for my parents is tax deductible as a gift. None of us are US citizen.

That would be a gift and gifts given are not reported on nor deductible on tax return.

If the amount of the gift given to a single individual is greater then $18,000 (2024) then the gift giver has to report the gift on IRS Form 709.
