I have completed the federal portion of my taxes. I have also completed the non-resident taxes for New York for prize winnings. TurboTax is not allowing me to e-file my taxes for Illinois because my numbers aren’t adding correctly. Line 1 in the non Illinois portion shows the prize winnings money. Line 15 is also showing that same amount therefor line 16 is doubling the amount causing my total amounts to be incorrect. How do I change this so it accounts for only the amount of the prize winnings without doubling it?

You only need to enter the winnings on the federal return. TurboTax will transfer that income to your state return(s). If you entered the winnings somewhere else, delete that entry. Prepare your nonresident (NY) return before you prepare the Illinois return. Your resident state will tax you on all of your income, but they will also give you credit for any tax paid to NY.
