If your husband received payments from unemployment, then he will receive a Form 1099-G that will be used to report those payments.
Similar to a W-2, this form must be issued and available to you by January 31st.
When you do receive it, use these steps to enter it into your tax return:
On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)
This opens a box where you can type in “unemployment compensation” (be sure to enter exactly as shown here, including the dash) and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)
The search results will give you an option to “Jump to unemployment compensation”
Click on the blue “Jump to unemployment compensation” link
