For US return you need a US number. if you're trying to do a Canadian return you are at the wrong place

You mentioned "Canadian phone number."  So that's confusing.

Are you trying to post your question in the USA TurboTax community forum or the Canada TurboTax community forum?   This is the USA forum. 

If you are preparing a Canadian return, here's the Canada TurboTax community forum.  You'll see a Maple Leaf flag in the top right corner indicating the Canadian website.
