Hello, I am confused as to why I owe money when I claimed zero exemptions and as a single.. how can this be explained?

Yeeeeeah this isn’t on Trump. This has happened to me every year from 2020-2024. He wasn’t in office then. It’s a W4 issue. They are used to calculate how much tax you’d owe but it’s not a perfect science. The IRS should just tell you how much you owe and then you calculate how much you’ve paid then the difference tells you what’s what.

At this point there is a section on your W4 that asks if you want you job so withhold anything more and I’m going to select that and just add like 150-200. Anything over will get refunded or applied to whatever outstanding balance I may have.

do some research before publicly making a fool of your self

Oh @Rrey413 ....thank you so much for your comment. "He wasn't in office then" and "do some research before publicly making a fool of your self " (it's yourself by the way).......SO Trump's tax plan was signed into LAW in 2017. Therefore...follow me here...we were still in his tax plan from 2020 - 2024 because those years come AFTER 2017....Biden didn't sign a new tax law my guy. We've literally been under his tax plan since it went into effect January 2018.
