If you are eligible for a Homestead credit, triple check everything on Turbo Tax. Wisco requires additional documents be submitted for HC credit. I learned this AFTER I filed. I contacted TT and requested a refund for my troubles. Their response was that when I told them to submit my return I acknowledged that I agreed with it. They also told me that I should have received a message upon the "final check" that the additional documents were required and that TT did not provide at least one of the documents required. I DID NOT RECEIVE THIS MESSAGE. End result is that, after I submitted the additional documents to Wisco directly, my refund was "approved" better than 2 weeks after it "should" have been. When I ultimately got my refund (today) it was better than a grand less than what TT had indicated. I have been a loyal TT customer for many years but I will be re-thinking that next year. I have also seen several other posts about Wisco filers having issues with their state refund being too high. TT is "blaming" the filers. That is not cool from my perspective, especially if they are not going to stand behind their product when they get called out.
