I upgraded to Windows 11 and have downloaded to Desk Top.  My clients  frfom 2024 were on Windows 10.  How do I get them transferred to my 2025 download?

Please explain "clients"?  What do you need  from them?  All you need to Transfer from 2024 into 2025 is the data file ending in .tax2024.  You need to copy that file from the Window 10 computer.  It should be in the Documents folder then in the subfolder TurboTax.  Or search the whole computer for all files ending in .tax or .tax2024.   

Turbo Tax on Windows 11  should work the same as on Windows 10.  Did you get Turbo Tax Desktop program downloaded, installed and activated ok?

Thanks for imput...Clients are friends I have helped and also my 2024 return. I am using the same desk top for windows 11 as had windows 10 installed.  All the 2024 just disappeared.  I did get the Windows 11 Turbo tax o.k.  Just looking for 2024 returns to transfer as I need to do an amended return.  Thanks again.  /any ideas where to look?

No sorry.   Could you be using One Drive?  I keep that off.   I have Home & Business. In June 2025 I upgraded my Windows 10 laptop to Windows 11.   All my Turbo Tax programs back to 2019 were still installed and work.  And my returns open.   Even the years before 2022 that are unsupported. I didn't need to reinstall them or reenter the License Code for any of them.

I suppose you didn't have any backups of the .tax2024 and pdf files?

No One drive. I use Delux.  When I upgraded all disappeared.  I downloaded the 2024 from Turbo Tax.  Not sure what to do to get the 2024 Turbo 10 into Windows 11.  Tks. for your support.

Are you asking how to reinstall 2024 or get the 2024 tax returns to transfer into 2025 and to amend 2024?

Since you now have to log into an Intuit Account when you first install it, all your downloads and licenses are listed there (even if you bought it from somewhere else) so if you need to install it again or install on another computer, even on the other operating system (Windows, Mac) you can download it again. And the download will have all the updates.

But if you can't find the tax return files ending in .tax2024 you can't transfer or amend 2024.  You would have to redo them from scratch.

When did you upgrade to Win 11?  This user Mike9241 says you might be able to revert back to Windows 10 within 10 days and maybe recover your files.

Yes I downloaded 2025 to Windows 11 as got message Turbo would not accept prior.  2024 Turbo disappeared
