Getting 'image not recognized' error message when trying to open dowloaded mac software file for 2016. How to download the software and open it?

I am trying to amend 2016 return. Got the software link from turbotax. When I download I get an 'untitled' disk image on desktop. When I try to open it I get 'image not recognized' message

Try deleting the download, emptying your computer's trash and rebooting your computer. Next, go to downloads in your TurboTax account and re-download the software. https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3302070
