Getting Error 102348 when trying to save or save as to Hard drive.

The note from herbb623tt about Ransomware Protection in Windows 10 Windows Defender anti-virus settings also worked for me.

I had an option to simply add an exception rather than disabling the entire feature … "Add an app through Controlled folder access". I browsed to the location of the TT executable file. I had to exit and restart TurboTax.  Before doing this I was able to save my in-progress tax return to a USB drive. After starting TT I was then able to read the return off the flash drive and re-save it to my hard drive.

TT location on my pc: C:\Program Files (x86)\TurboTax\Deluxe 2018

Microsoft recently updated Windows Defender to check apps and files in the App & browser control. When you turn this option off. You can save your tax files to your hard drive.
Open Windows Defender.
click App & Browser control
Under Check apps and files - choose off

Thanks  !   It also works by setting this option to 'Warn', which is a little safer than Off.

I added the turbotax app as an exception to the protection folder, and it still gives me the same Error 102348 when trying to save it.

I think I found the answer.   If your using Windows 10 Anti virus, there is an option called Ransomware Protection.  That was turned on.  Turning it off allows me to save files to the hard drive. Apparently Windows 10 doesnt fully trust TurboTax.  : - )

To correct error 102348:

1. Go to Windows Settings and Click on Update & Security

2. Click Windows Security

3. Click Virus & Threat Protection

4. Virus & Threat protection settings / Manage Settings

5. Controlled folder access / Manage controlled folder access

6. Allow an app through Controlled Folder Access

7. Do you want to allow Windows Security to make changes to your device?--YES

8. Click Add an allowed app

9. Enter TurboTax

This should allow you to save TurboTax to your hard drive.

If you're using TurboTax for Windows, you may may experience Error: 567809 or 102348 when attempting to save your tax file. The link provided below will assist you with a solution on how to proceed:

Error 567809 or 102348: Cannot save tax file or File not found

The actual solution on Windows 10 is to Go to Windows Security, Virus & Threat Protection, Allow an App through Controlled folder access, choose recently blocked apps then Turbotax for current year.

Unfortunately, the link that @TiffanyL provided doesn't mention the Windows Defender issue for which @onthehalfshell provides a solution (which applies to Windows 10 and 11).

Intuit should update its answer at Error 567809 or 102348: Cannot save tax file or File not found to include this scenario. It's at least as likely as some of those currently cited; I'd be very surprised if, say, file corruption were more likely than the Windows Defender threat-protection problem.
