Getting a W2 imported without knowing the dollar amount on it or control number?

If you don’t know the dollar amount, you likely cannot complete import successfully. You can instead type your W-2 information manually or upload a photo or file of it to allow TurboTax to extract the data.

Without this information, import may not be possible.

If you need extra time, filing an extension by April 15, 2026, moves your submission deadline to October 15. But remember any taxes owed are still due in full by the original April 15 date.
