Do I half to request my 2018 ip pin ? Or do they send me one? And how can I make sure I’m getting it ?

Generally, the IP PIN is only requested once. After that initial request the IRS will automatically mail a new IP PIN to the address on the most recently filed tax return in the form of a CP01A Letter from the IRS.The letter should be received on average by Jan 31st. If not received by Feb 15th, the below applies.
