If I pay for full service, and I need to file two state returns (two different states, one return each), does full service cover that?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You will pay a $69 fee for each state return if that is what you mean. When you use online TurboTax you pay separately for federal and state returns.
Yes, TurboTax Live Full Service will cover two state returns. It offers various levels of pricing based on your unique tax situation. The tax expert does everything, from preparing, signing, and e-filing. If you need to mail your return, you will have to print and mail.

Will I get an expert for each state? One for Illinois one for Louisiana?
No, you will be assigned one expert based on your tax situation who will complete your federal and state taxes.
Will I get an expert for each state, Louisiana and Illinois? I am a resident of Illinois. Husband is resident of Louisiana. Federal taxes are MFJ. Illinois taxes allows MFS, for me. But I'm pretty sure Louisiana requires MFJ, since that's what the federal status was.
Wait---are you trying to use Full Service for only your state returns? Did you already prepare and file your federal return? Did you use TurboTax for the federal return?
I haven't filed federal taxes yet. Although I have no issues on how to file my federal return, I'm contemplating paying for TurboTax Live Full Service because I need help with the state returns. But you can't just pay for state help only, you have to pay for federal and state.
But before I pay for TurboTax Live Full Service, I need to know if I'll get an expert for each state that I need to file a return in, because these states are very different. It's rare to find an Illinois expert that also knows about Louisiana specific tax laws.
