Frozen Rent Affect Taxes
Hello,
Can a SCRIE recipient still file taxes? Or does having frozen rent over age 65 not allow a person to file taxes?
Thank you

Frozen Rent Affect Taxes
Hi!
A SCRIE (Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption) recipient has had their rent frozen at the current level and is exempt from future increases. Their landlord receives a tax abatement credit when they are participants in the program. This program does not have a direct relation to the recipient's tax return and they should file if they meet normal filing criteria.
