Found unopened 2013 work w-2 - checked file folder of completed taxes, missing that year - is it too late to file?? since April would have been 3 years??

I would be due a refund... what does it mean i'd have til october 16 <with an extension??>...   i thought you only got extensions, if you Owed the IRS money..

Ok ... if you had filed an extension for the 2013 return then you could still  amend the 2013 return for a refund.  But if you didn't then you lose ... it is too late.
