Form 8949 has code "F" checked on all worksheets and forms but in the property description below on 8949 has code "E" filled in on the code box.  Can't change unless override.

I assume you received a Form 1099-B, and if so then code "E" would be the correct code in part II of form 8949. The worksheets won't show on your return, so it won't matter if they have the wrong code.

No 1099 B. This was inherited real estate that was split between four siblings.  I am reporting 25% of the sale proceeds and sale expenses.  But I think I figured it out.  The code "E" has to do with the adjustments and not the transaction type  correct?

You may need to delete your entry and reinput under "Other" investment sales from the page "OK, let's start with one investment type." Then choose "Second Home" or "Land" on the sale entry page (What type of investment did you sell?).

With these entries, Code F will be used on the Cap Asset Sales worksheet and on Form 8949 (Long-Term).
