Form 8889 Line 2, include excess contribution withdrawn?

I made an excess contribution to my HSA in 2021.  I notified the HSA administrator and they withdrew the excess contribution during 2021.  I received a 1099-SA that correctly shows the distribution and the earnings on excess contributions.

Should the amount in Box 2 of the 8889 include the excess contribution, or not?

in the Turbotax interview, when it says how much did you contribute, do i include the excess contribution or not?  If I include the amount, Turbotax tells me to go withdraw it, but I have already withdrawn it.

If i just tell TT the net (final) amount, it puts that amount on line 2 of form 8889.

Yes, you will report the excess contribution on your return.  When TurboTax tells you to withdraw it, it is giving you the latest date you can withdraw it and not pay any penalty.  Since this has already been done, your returns will be correct.
