I just finished inputting all my data and was looking for a form 8833. I could not find it when searching and saw that it was not supported in the past.
Is that still the case?
If so is there any idea to change that?
I would like to keep using TurboTax, but if I have to keep alternating years based on this form, that is a bit frustrating.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Some forms aren't available to be E-filed yet. This could be because the IRS and/or State hasn't released the form to be electronically filed. Once they do release it, it might take a few days for TurboTax to integrate it into the system.
If the form says it's Unsupported, it means that it is not supported by TurboTax, and you won't be able to file it electronically. Instead, you will have to print and mail either the form itself or the whole return.
Click on the link below and then on the blue "This Tool" link, and locate when your specific return or form will be available to be e-filed (if applicable):
When will my individual tax forms be available in TurboTax?
Hey NicolleR1 - Many thanks for the link!
I looked up form 8833 for 1040 Individual, Federal on both Windows and Online and it did not return any result (just blank).
I assume this means not supported and no plans to in the short term, right?
Thanks again for your help so far!
Correct, TurboTax doesn't support Form 8833 at all.
You'll need to complete a copy of the form (you can find it on the IRS website here) and mail it with the rest of your return to the IRS.
That's unfortunate, but clear. Thanks for the confirmation Kesha!
You're welcome!
