Form 8606: Issue with carrying forward basis from two years ago (?)

Last year (2023) I did not have an 8606 form (Nondeductible IRA's).  I did have a 8606 for 2022.

This year 2024, Turbo Tax did not access the 2022 8606 in order to carry forward the basis.

I had to do this (enter) manually.   It is a good thing I checked-- and entered the basis manually onto the 2024 Form 8606.  That helped my refund.

Also note-- I have Turbo Tax 2023 2022, 2021 files on the same computer all these years.

Is this an error/omission in Turbo Tax? It would be helpful if Turbo Tax could access the next backward availabe prior year, if a year without a Form 8606 occured.
