Form 8606 for 2017 is available on IRS.gov but TurboTax is telling me its not?

Turbo Tax indicated the new 2017 Form 8606 would be available in Turbo Tax 2/15/18. Are you still on target for today, or is there a new ETA? Thank you.

I believe 8606-S will not be available today.

I'm pretty sure this is a game being played by the IRS, not TT.

The fact that the forms are available on IRS website has nothing to do with any tax software program.  The forms are available if you are going to download to complete on your own.  However, e-filing is different.  Once the form is finalized by the IRS, it has to be coded into the special language the software uses and has to be thoroughly tested for calculations and e-filing acceptability.  IRS then has to approve it for e-file.  It always takes a little longer for a form to become available for e-file in a software program.  I hope this helps you understand the situation.  According to the update, this form will not be available until 2/15/2018.

Its not logical if efile suppose to be faster.  The form and instruction are available on the website . so if i mail it i can get it back faster than efile or faster than they approve it? However thanks for info but i think this system need some work!! esp if go paperless being promoted!

I'm with you, kickie1977.  This is holding up our refund!  I've had our taxes done for 3 weeks now just waiting for this form to be available in TurboTax.

Today is 2/15/2018 and the it says the form is still not available. Is there a certain time this will be available? I intended to manually file this year tax returns due to ITIN requirement. I anyways cannot e-File.  Can I use this form available at IRS?

I am done with Turbo tax. Can't even talk to anyone without an extra fee. I paid on 2/3/2018.
