Form 8453 Mailing Address Issue (USPS)

I e-filed my taxes on 17th of March and mailed my 8453 and other docs on the 20th, which is within 3 business days as the instruction for the form required.

USPS made a mistake and a delayed delivery occurred. The files didn't get delivered until today which is the 26th.

And instead of the correct address and zip code:

Internal Revenue Service

Attn: Shipping and Receiving, 0254

Receipt and Control Branch

Austin, TX 73344-0254

My tracking showed: "Your item was delivered to an individual at the address at 5:53 pm on March 26, 2019 in AUSTIN, TX 78710"

1. Has this different zip code issue occurred to anyone else? How long should I wait before calling IRS to check if they have actually received it?

2. Is there gonna be an issue if my files arrived ten days after my e-file date? Or do they only care about the date you sent them?

Thanks.

Don't worry about it. It is the postmark date that you sent it.  The delivery date does not matter.    The processing time on the "other document" depends on what it is.     Allow at least 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for the reply. I'm just worried that it might got delivered to the wrong place since the zip was a little off, if I wait 2-3 weeks to find out IRS never got them, then I'll be mailing them out again past deadline.

Does not matter when the IRS gets it as long as you have proof of mailing within 3 days - you met the mailing requirement.
