Anyone know why I received a notification after efile to print Form 8453 and attach Form 8949 ?

This has always been included in efile before

when you enter multiple stock trades as a single item on form 8949, the IRS wants the details. You e-file your return and provide the IRS with those details by mailing in form 8453 with the 1099-B

Is there no efile option for this?

will the return be processed or on hold until they receive the print document by mail?

what if the 1099-B is for Bitcoin with no cost basis listed?

What is the Box Category you are reporting? see exception below.

If you are not excused by the detail reporting exception,
IRS requires details of your SELL transactions to be supplied on some Form 8949,
or on your other forms (e.g. consolidated 1099-B or spreadsheet) which have the same information and in the same manner as Form 8949.

This is so, even when the broker has sent details to the IRS already.

The exception does not include wash sales, since they have an adjustment.
    -----
Detail Reporting Exception: if you summarize Category A or Category D, Form 8949 is not needed for transactions without adjustments. No mailing is necessary. No attachment is necessary.

For non-covered securities ( BOX B or E) showing zero (wrong) basis, enter the correct basis yourself.
Use code "B" and put -0- in col (g).
For Box A or D, leave basis as reported, use Code "B" and put an adjustment in col(g).

If you go through the TurboTax dialog, TurboTax will comply. That is, it did in the older versions I tested.
