Form 8453 and supporting statements
I e-filed my 2020 return and it was accepted. Form 8453 was generated and the wording regarding 8849 is unclear as it states in part "if you elect not to report transaction electronically"
1) My 8849 shows summary transaction with "see stmnt attached" but these are Box D transactions where basis is reported to the IRS by the broker including a basis adjustment for accrued discount.
2.) I have a second 8849 which shows Box E transactions where the individual sales are listed albeit with an acquisition data of various.
Seems like item 2 should have a statement mailed, but unsure about item 1
