Form 7206

After waiting a week to have form 7206 Turbo Tax is now saying my return is not eligible for e-file because of this form.  That is unacceptable, is it just a matter of waiting a few more days for the cliches to be worked out?

Anyone else having this ongoing issue?

Yes, Form 7206 is now eligible for Efile, according to yesterday's update.

Or, you could delete Form 7206 from your return, then re-create it by going through the interview questions about Self-Employed Health Insurance, and try Efiling again.

It never hurts to close TurboTax, clear your Cache and Cookies , and re-try your Efile, if you're in TurboTax Online.  If you're in TurboTax Desktop, please Check for Updates from the Online menu.

The amount of your Self-Employed Health Insurance Deduction appears on Form 7206, Line 14 and flows to Schedule 1, Line 17 and then to Form 1040, Line 10.

The software is still telling me I can't efile with Form 7206 a part of my return.  It does now have the final Form 7206 but won't allow efiling.  I've done a manual update.  Will I ever be allowed to efile with Form 7206?

Form 7206

Using TurboTax Deluxe plus State for 2023 (CD version from Amazon) on Windows 10.  Got this morning's (Feb. 7/8th) update installed and got this same problem with Form 7206 not eligible for e-file.  The advise on clearing browser cache/cookies and deleting the Form for revisit of that section in TT did not resolve the problem.   It did recreate the Form.  There are no errors on re-look of Forms either.....says "Your return has no errors."

During Step-by-Step Smart Check, I get:

We found 0 areas on your federal return where we'll need to review your entries.  We'll handle them one at a time.

Upon selecting Continue, I get:

We Won't Be Able to E-file Your Return

It looks like you have a tax situation in your federal return that makes it ineligible for e-filing, according to IRS rules.

Here are the details:

You have Form 7206 Self-Employed Health Insurance Deduction that is not supported for electronic filing.

Don't worry, even though you are unable to e-file your return, we"ll still help you file your return by mail.

If I go to File a Return and select e-file, it definitely blocks with note on Federal Return with Issue stating This return has certain forms that can't be e-filed.....yada yada.

I see a lot of posts suggesting others have the problem too.  Assuming this is a real bug stemming from Form 7206 final IRS approval, which I've seen others post was incorporated in today's update.

I have the same issue....I get my insurance through the Marketplace so not even sure why I need this form.

Form 7206

The insurance in question on my problem is from Medicare Sched B amount in the SSA-1099, which is deductible because of filing Sched. C for business AFAIK.

It did not work. even though 7206 is gone, it still shows the deduction on worksheet. I shouldn't have a deduction anyway and use a marketplace plan. Program still won't allow me to Efile

I have the desktop version of TurboTax.  This version deletes Form 7206 and then recreates it automatically.  I updated my software today, so I am on the most recent version. Since I am on the desktop version, clearing cache and cookies does not apply.  Do you plan to generate another software update to fix those using the desk version of the software?

That FAQ specifies conditions that are not present in my case. I AM including long-term care insurance premiums. But Turbotax still says that I can't efile because Form 7206 is part of my return.

Form 7206

My case involves SSA-1099 Sched. B Medicare Insurance amount as deduction in combination with Small Business contract work to a single company with 1099-NEC income.  Only other typical deductions are travel mileage and cell phone for the work.

Some TurboTax customers may be experiencing an issue where TurboTax is adding Form 7206 Self-Employed Health Insurance Deduction when only one source of self-employment income is present, Form 2555 isn't being filed, and long-term care premiums aren't being included for the deduction.
