Dear experts,
I am filling form 1116 from Vanguard 1099-Div for Foreign tax credit. The following values are shown in "2019 Foreign Tax Paid" from Vanguard.
Description : VNGRD TTL INTL STK ADML (VTIAX)
Foreign tax: 469
Foreign Income: 6775
QDI Eligible Foreign Income: 4445
Questions:
1) So, now is it ok to choose the following in TT?
Country: RIC
Total Foreign income for this category: 6775
Foreign qualified dividends and l.t. capital gains: 4445
2) Can I leave the rest blank such as AMT-RIC, etc.? Will TT automatically pick up other numbers entered to compute any other adjustments required automatically?
3) Should I take into account any other numbers from my Vanguard 1099-Div form such as :
Box 1a: Total ordinary dividends?
Box 1b: Qualified Dividends?
Box 2a: Total capital gain distr?
Thanks a lot!
Regards.
