Turbo Tax needs to fix its 1095A software question to include 1095B as an alternative, and not include the terrifying statement that unless one has 1095A then the government will not approve efile.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You do not enter 1095-B. Not everyone has a 1095-A - you will only have this form if you have health insurance through The Marketplace (Obamacare). If you have a 1095-A, enter it. If not, answer NO to that question.
Unfortunately, if you answer no, a threatening message pops up saying that the federal government will not accept your Efile. The software has to be changed so that if you answer no, another window appears that allows you to enter 1095B or some other recognized medical plan.
The IRS thinks that at some point you had a marketplace policy.
Please try this and then try to re-file.
To enter, edit or delete your Form 1095-A -
Repeat the same process and answer NO to the question "Did You get a 1095-A.
Fortunately, I decided to disregard the message and proceeded to finish and efile my taxes, including my state taxes where they asked me if I had a medical plan to which I said yes (1095B). Within a few hours both my federal and state taxes were accepted.
