For the last two year's I didn't get my federal refund. They said it was because I owed state taxes. But I am getting a bill saying my state wasn't paid. What should I do

Now they have billed me for those state taxes

TurboTax never knows if you have an offset for back taxes, or whether you have paid your taxes.   TT does not get any information from the IRS or your state after you file your tax return.   TurboTax has no way to know how much you paid to the state or even if you paid.    Only your own bank or credit card records would show if you paid, or in this instance, the records of the offset if the IRS seized a federal refund to pay the state at the state's request.

Check your IRS online account and check with the offset program.

NOTE: You can contact the IRS Treasury Offset Program Call Center at 1-800-304-3107 to ask if they have an offset for you on file. TurboTax would not have that information.
