For my return last year (2019) under occupation i put “student” but i was actually in the military, is this the reason I haven’t received any stimulus payments ?

How can i fix this, or is it too late

What you put for occupation does not affect your return. When you come to federal review of your 2020 return  you will be able to reconcile your stimulus payments.

No, the IRS does not use the occupation information to determine stimulus qualification.  If you were claimed as a dependent for 2019, you would not qualify for the stimulus.  However, if you are not claimed as a dependent in 2020, you will be able to collect the Recovery Rebate Payments and the third stimulus.

You can check the status of your stimulus payment and the way it’ll be sent to you by going to the IRS Get My Payment Tool
