i have been e-filing successfully with TT since it was first available. have always had to use form 1116 and 1116-alternattive minimum tax (electing the simplified AMT foreign tax limitation). for some reason i cannot e-file this year. turbotax's "1116-amt" not acceptable for e-filing anymore? only thing i can think of.

You cannot e-file not because of simplified AMT foreign tax limitation. There is another issue
which has been submitted and is currently under investigation. If you would like to receive an update for the progress, click on the following link to get notified:
If, in the previous year, you have used the AMT adjustments to determine your taxable income and deductions on Form 1116 for AMT purposes, you must continue to use this method ( Simplified Limitation Election for AMT) this year. You should only select No on the screen, if last year's decision was an error and you did not enter AMT adjustments in the first year you were required to file Form 1116 for AMT purposes.
The 1116 link says solved and talks about a 1099-int issue with foreign taxes. This issue is with amt simplified not allowing efiling and it remains a problem....when will that be fixed? It wasn’t a problem last year. I see another thread with dozens of people having this problem.
There are e-file issues with the Form 1116 in general. Please sign up for notification here: Form 1116 reject error

I am having this same problem. When will this problem be fixed?
Some TurboTax customers are having issues with e-filed returns being rejected due to Foreign Tax Credit for US tax being withheld on 1099-DIV amounts received from mutual funds.
