I am married on ss and penzion total $60,000/year. No other income. My wife has ss $11,000/year only. I am on medicare and she has an individual health care insurance. If we fill jointly she doesn't qualify for health insurance subsidies, and has to pay $900/month premium because our joint income is $71,000. If we fill separately is she qualified for the health care subsidy? Because her income is $11,000/year. Is it allowed to fill our taxes separately instead jointly?

Thank you.

When applying for health care coverage you must report the income of all members of the household if applying for health care coverage through the Marketplace.  So your spouse is going to loss that subsidy regardless of how you file your tax return.

For tax purposes only it is almost always far better to file as Married Filing Jointly when you are married.

If you are Married Filing Separate you must include your wife's name and social security number to e-file.  If you don't have this, you will need to print and mail your return.

Why do you think you have no Tennessee taxes due?  Not sure what your question is here.
