I want to file my grandkids they don’t stay with they stay with their mom but they mom doesn’t work can I file them.

Since they don’t live with you, you can’t claim them.

No, children who were under 19 at the end of 2024 (24 if they attended school full time for at least part of five calendar months of the year) must have lived with you for more than half of the year to be claimed.

 

Who can I claim as a dependent?
