Filing status

My ex-wife died in 2024 and I never remarried after we divorced, so do I file my 2024 taxes as divorced or widowed?

I am sorry for your loss.  If you were divorced when she passed away, your filing status is single (or Head of Household, if applicable).

If you are divorced you still file as Single.  There is no filing status of Divorced or Widow, unless you were still married on Dec 31, 2024.
