You told the program that you are married and filing separate from your spouse, that you have not lived with your spouse at any time in the last six months of the year, that you have a qualifying child as a dependent and that you provided over one-half the cost to maintain your home.  The program gave you Head of Household filing status which is much better than Married Filing Separately.

But why is it asking me about my spouse.

Because you told the program you were filing as Married separate from your spouse.  The program needs to know the name and Social Security number of your spouse when you file as MFS since it required by the IRS on your tax return for MFS.  At the point in time in the interview the program did not know you were claiming a dependent and that you have not lived with your spouse at any time during the last six months of the year.
