My wife is a ward of the court in connection with a Medicaid application. Does this affect our Married Filing Jointly status?

Filing status question

No, you can file jointly with your wife even if she is a ward of the court- but you may want to check to see if she is able to sign her own return (check the guardianship laws in your state).
