Filing state tax

Currently I live in Colorado but am not a resident of CO. My residency is still Pennsylvania and in 2019 I worked until May in PA then moved to Colorado for an internship that lasted until 2020. My federal tax was fine however when I try to file PA state tax they ask me what PA county I was in Dec. 31 2019 even though in federal I had said I was in CO that date. Have I been doing something wrong or is it asking what county my PA residency is in? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Chris Winner

From what you have described in your question it appears for tax purposes you are a resident of Colorado.  You moved there in May of 2019 and still reside there now.  The PA return question is to verify if you were in PA on 12/31/2019 to determine if you were a resident.  Your best option may be to file with Colorado as your resident state and PA as your non-resident state.  This will allow you to answer the residency question on the PA return correctly.
