Filing past taxes

Hi, I have a question.

I am going to file the tax 2020 this week using TurboTax. But I have not filed any taxes between 2014-2019.  

What happened if I do not file the taxes for the period?

It depends on whether you should have filed for 2014-2019.

It might be that you did not have a filing requirement.

If you do have a tax liability from any of those years, the IRS will know where to send a letter. 

If you don't have a tax liability, nothing will happen, but your contact information will be updated with the IRS in case you are eligible for the stimulus payments.
