Filing Married or Separate?

I got married in 2016 but I haven't switched my name on my id or social yet. Do I file single or married? And if so, can I file separately and still claim my daughter? Due to my husband having back due child support and such, I don't want my income tax to go to his ex wife? If that makes sense..
