Filing date

Tax preparer states submitted return on November 26, 2024. IRS on transcript  states filing date December 23 2024. Extension for late filing but why would it take almost 27 days from submission to filing  (date recognized by IRS) especially in November December? Something is not right. Any advice? I question if preparer actually submitted in November, . He us ending relationship.

Asked IRS to do tracer.

Have you scrolled down your transcript and looked at "Return received" date which is different than "Tax return filed" date?  It may appear twice on the transcript depending on which type of transcript--"Record of Account transcript" versus "Tax Return Transcript."    In any case, look for "Return received."

This is anecdotal as a fellow user (I'm not a tax expert), but in my experience on my transcripts the IRS always shows the "Tax return filed" and date as later than the "Return received" date.    For example, if my "Return received" shows as 4/02/24, the transcript may say "Tax return filed" is 4/29/24--about 3 weeks after they received it.   In my case the date filed also seems to match "processing date."   I think it has to do with IRS "cycles", which for me always appear to be near the end of the month.

Look for a line that says "Return received" and shows date.  I think it's lower down in the transcript than "Tax return filed" and date.     What does it show?

ADDENDUM:

After looking at a transcript I edited my answer above to match the terms the transcript uses for the dates.  Instead of "date filed", the transcript uses "Tax return filed" and shows date.  Instead of "date received" it uses "Return received" and shows date.   That doesn't really change the essence of the above, however.  Look for your "Return received" date.
