I got divorced over the summer, filing single for the first time ever
What should I do or not do? What are the big NO's or what should I be aware of?

You may want to start a new online account with a new user ID.   It is very messy to use an account that has been used for joint returns in past years; it is hard to remove the "spouse stuff" and you will get errors.

The links provided above will provide valuable information to assist with filing.  Determining your filing status may not be as straightforward as it appears.   Use this link for additional information for Divorced Taxpayers.

You may be able to file Single or Head of Household.  Head of Household filers can have a lower taxable income and greater potential refund than when using the single filing status. The Head of Household filing status can claim a roughly 50% larger standard deduction than single filers ($20,800 vs $13,850 for 2023). Heads of Household can also use wider tax brackets that allow more of their taxable income to fall into lower tax brackets.  For more details:  Single vs Head of Household

For 2023, if you are under the age of 65 and filing single or married filing separately, you typically must file an income tax return if your gross income was $13,850 or higher.
