Filing a state return without filing federally

My wife and I are residents of two states.  I need to file a joint federal return and a Georgia return filed separately for her which Turbotax suggested.  How do I do that?

If you want to file your state return before filing your federal return, you will have to print and mail your state return.  A successful federal e-file is required to e-file your state return.  Another option would be to indicate that you will pay your Federal tax by mailing a check, go ahead and e-file federal and state and then pay your federal tax after you receive your state refund. But you can file your federal then file your state.
