Filed state taxes for 2018

I need to file for several states for 2018. How many I continue those?

You will need to use the TurboTax desktop editions for tax year 2018.  You receive one free state program download included in the purchase price.  You can purchase and download as many different state programs as you need to complete and file.  Each new state program is $44.99.

A 2018 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.

@feasler270 If you prepared your 2018 federal return using TurboTax you can prepare state returns by downloading the desktop software for 2018.   It is too late to e-file a 2018 return, so each one must be printed, signed and mailed.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS and/or your state received the return.

You will not be able to e-file anything for 2018 at this time unless your state is allowing you to do it directly through there website.  This is not common.

To file the state with TurboTax, you would need to use the desktop version of TurboTax and then choose print and mail your return.
