File transmission didn't go through

I am trying to file my taxes and every time I hit complete, this exact message pops up. I have already tried clearing cookies, turning off ad block, and I already paid to file a month ago. 

"Your transmission didn't go through

We could not e-file your return for the following reason:
A server problem occurred while processing your e-file. Please try to e-file again and if that fails contact customer service."

I've been trying to e-file both my federal and state returns. Turbo tax tries to recharge me for the program and the state filing which should be free.  I also already paid for the Premier version. I've tried calling, got an ID number and tried again tonight. They said they would call me back so I wouldn't have to wait the 5-10 minutes. They never did after 2 hours.  I called again and held for 58 minutes before I got an agent, then after getting my reason she disconnected me and never called back. I decided to try and file my federal return instead of both. It went through fine.  Now I'm holding again to speak to Turbo Tax agent.  Frustrating!! Good luck.

I had this problem and all the suggestions I could find indicated that this is likely a problem with firewall security. If you go to your firewall specifications you might be able to correct it by either adding TurboTax to the apps allowed to bypass incoming firewall security or by completely disabling the firewall for the duration.

 

I will say that did NOT work for me which left only the possibility that the problem was in the wi-fi routers to which I do not have access  (they are managed by building IT). My solution was simply to use my cell phone tether rather than the in-house network.
