My husband and I just got married this year. I have a child from a previous relationship and her bio dad and I take turns claiming her each year on our returns. It will be my turn to claim her for the 2024 tax year. With that said, do I need to file separately from my husband or can we still file a joint return claiming my daughter?

You can file your tax return as Married Filing Jointly and claim your daughter as a dependent child on the return.
