Hi,
I'm a MA resident who just filed an extension for Fed tax and have tax owed. Normally, the tax owed is due on April 15th, but this year it said 06/17/2024. Is this right? The date [06/17/2024] came up while I was completing the form where they require you to enter in bank info.
Thanks.

No, for taxpayers residing in Massachusetts, the deadline to pay your tax due is April 17, 2024.
For most of the country, is April 15, 2024, but due to the Patriot's Day holiday, the deadline is April 17 in Maine and Massachusetts.
Thank you for replying back to my question. If April 17 due date is accurate and applicable to MA residents, then why does TurboTax have the 06/17/24 date? I did the Fed extension with the CPA on screen share. She saw the date and paused for few seconds with questions! Is there a system bug with TurboTax software? Who should I contact to get to the bottom of this?
File federal and Massachusetts state taxes by April 17, 2024. If you were affected by a natural disaster like storms, tornadoes, floods, and mudslides in 2024, your tax filing and payment deadlines for your 2023 taxes may have been extended.
Select your state for information on your filing and payment deadlines.
I called the IRS 1-888-353-4537, and my tax due was scheduled for 06/17! I don't know WHY! I canceled the scheduled payment for 06/17 and made direct pay on the IRS site.
